To grab a share of the ski chalet industry for a new chalet company & get bookings for their first season.

Alpinium was approaching its first ski season with a portfolio of Alpine ski chalets, offering catered ski holidays in a number of popular ski resorts.

The ski holiday sector is much like the slopes of Val d'Isère in February; crowded. Hotels, chalets, booking sites and ski holiday companies all scrabbling to get bookings and full occupancy. You may have the best product or service at the most compelling price, but when you’re squaring up to industry titans how can you get any wins?

Alpinium wasn’t just targeting Les Arcs or La Plagne, it offers ski chalets in numerous resorts so the SEO war was being fought on many fronts. But the average holidaymaker isn’t easily won. Booking a ski holiday is a considered purchase based on extensive research of the resorts, facilities, ski areas, transport/travel options, cost of ski passes, snow forecast, activities and numerous other factors.

So instead of trying to rank for the product, our initial SEO strategy was to rank for the answers to all of the many questions that holidaymakers were asking Google. Alpinium became an authority, providing valuable information for holidaymakers during the consideration period of the conversion funnel. This strategy provided value for website visitors, earning trust whilst keeping the chalets front and centre.

Ranking for over a thousand long tail keywords and specific search terms, Alpinium became the go-to information site for those planning an Alpine ski holiday, so much so, that it even began outranking the resort websites; who knew that republishing the ski area maps would lead to so much traffic? Well, we may have had an idea.
